Purposeful Planning: 3 Steps to Get Ready for Personal Brand Planning

Here we are in Q2 and our 2023 plans are in full effect!

Right?

If not, don’t worry there is still time to create a plan for a thriving personal brand.

Planning is an essential aspect of personal branding, it helps us set clear goals and develop strategies to achieve them.

#DYK:

  • Establishing goals is an important step towards achievements, triggering new behaviors, and guiding your focus?

  • Setting goals helps give direction, manage priorities, measure progress towards success, and keeps you motivated and accountable?

  • The SMART goal framework, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound can help you map out your goals?

Phew!! Sounds like #GOALS are critical to having a solid plan and we’ll get to that part; HOWEVER, before we do that, sometimes you have to do a little prep work

You’re thinking - WHAT? I have to plan for my plan?? Trust me on this!

Here are a few steps to get you primed and ready for not just planning but PURPOSEFUL planning.

  1. Pray for your plan: Pray and seek God for your personal brand plan. Where do you start? What do you need to do to build it? He’s given you a purpose, so ask him to show you what to do next!

  2. Be mindful and sit with it: Mindfulness practices like meditation and journaling can help you gain clarity and focus, making it easier to think about the big picture for your brand, and to set and achieve goals. Incorporating mindfulness into your brand planning can also help you prioritize tasks and develop a more strategic approach for your personal brand.

  3. Write it down: Sometimes we want to get right into developing the outline, or mapping out different strategies and tactics, but when you just let the ideas flow out of your mind and onto the paper or screen, you’ll be amazed at the outcome! Do you have a white board, or maybe a pile of sticky notes, where you can jot down ideas and map them out on the wall? Maybe you’re into using digital planning tools - like Evernote; whatever you use, the important part is to write it down.

This prep work will help you get your mind, and spirit aligned and ready to map out a roadmap for your brand that will lead to success.

In the next blog post we’ll go a little further with our Purposeful Planning - pulling our ideas together, and outlining the key components of a personal brand plan.
